If you are just starting to introduce beet juice into your juicing regimen, try these quick and healthy recipes first, and then move to creating your own favorite flavor combinations.

Juice recipes are imprecise, and you have a complete control of what ingredients and what quantity to add to the blend. All the juices below are low in calories and a good source of vitamins A, C and K.

Beetroot juice

Use fresh, crisp fruit and vegetables for juicing. Buy them in season and store in the refrigerator if required.

Wash under a stream of running water, and gently scrub beets, carrots and apples (if non-organic) with a natural bristle brush.

Peel citrus fruits. Rinse celery, and thoroughly rinse greens if using for juicing.

Follow your juicer manufacturer's instructions to cut fruit and vegetable into pieces - small beetroot and carrots, usually can be pushed through the juicer whole.

It has also been found to significantly improve athlete's performance by reducing the amount of oxygen needed by muscles for physical activity.
